Adobe x Christian Cowan Dress
Presented at New York Fashion Week, the Adobe x Christian Cowan dress crafted using Adobe Project Primrose technology. Designed by fashion designer Christian Cowan, this interactive dress has the ability to change and adapt based on movement, marking it as the first fully wearable and electronically reconfigurable garment.
The Adobe x Christian Cowan dress consists of 1,264 individual "petals" made from PDLC, an electroactive material that can change the amount of light diffusion multiple times within a second, commonly used in smart windows. By crafting an array of these primrose petals, the dress can be programmed to instantly switch patterns, or display beautiful flowing animations in silver and gray.
Bringing Future Tech to Life
The Adobe x Christian Cowan dress is more than a style statement; the innovative technology behind it proves its capability to transform fabric into a living work of art. A transformative dress, it dazzled the audience with its innovative design, truly bringing fashion to life.
